Alabama Disabilities
Advocacy Program (ADAP)
The Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program is part of
the nation's federally-funded protection and advocacy
(P&A) system. ADAP provides legal services to
Alabamians with disabilities to protect, promote and
expand their rights. ADAP is part of the National
Disability Rights Network (NDRN).

OK2TALK is a community where teens and young adults
struggling with mental health conditions can find a safe
place to talk about what they’re experiencing by sharing
their personal stories of recovery, tragedy, struggle or
hope. Anyone can add their voice by sharing stories,
poems, inspirational quotes, photos, videos, song lyrics
and messages of support in a safe, moderated space.

NAMI's "You are Not Alone" campaign utilized Web
publishing and social media to solicit and promote first-
hand written and video testimony from individuals and
families affected by mental illness—to fight stigma,
inspire others and educate the broader public.

American Foundation for
Suicide Prevention (AFSP)
Established in 1987, the American Foundation for
Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health
organization that gives those affected by suicide a
nationwide community empowered by research,
education and advocacy to take action against this
leading cause of death.
